Solution-Focused Marital Enhancement Program for Couples with an Immigrant Wife

Abstract

|
|
The authors developed and examined the effectiveness of a solution-focused marital enhancement program for married couples. Four couples were assigned to the 6-session experimental group and another 4 to the control group. All couples included a Korean husband and Vietnamese wife. Results from pre-test, post-test, and follow-up measures indicated that the program improved the husbands’ and the wives’self-esteem, marital satisfaction, and couple communication skills.
